Eating vegetarian on Wegovy with enough protein
Vegetarian on Wegovy takes a bit more planning, since you have no chicken or fish as an easy protein source. With dairy, eggs, soy and pulses you still reach 90 grams or more a day in small portions. If you eat fully plant-based, discuss vitamin B12 and protein combinations with your dietitian. This is guidance, not medical advice.

Sample day of 94 grams of protein
Breakfast: Greek yoghurt with berries, 20 grams. Lunch: hummus bowl with 2 eggs, 18 grams. Snack: small bowl of quark, 12 grams. Dinner: tofu stir-fry with edamame, 22 grams, plus a glass of milk, 8 grams extra, and a handful of nuts at lunch. Together well over 90 grams without meat or fish.
- Soy is complete protein: tofu, tempeh, edamame and soy yoghurt.
- Combine pulses with wholegrains through the day for all amino acids.
- Eggs and quark are the fastest vegetarian protein sources in small portions.
Watch iron and B12
If you eat little, iron and B12 run low faster. Eat vitamin C with your pulses and wholegrains for better iron uptake, and discuss B12 with your doctor if you eat little or no dairy and eggs. Fatigue and hair loss have several causes: get blood tested instead of stacking supplements yourself.

Short answers
Frequently asked questions
How much protein can I get vegetarian on Wegovy?
With dairy, eggs, soy and pulses, 90 to 110 grams a day is achievable in 4 to 5 small portions. Fully plant-based, plan tighter and talk to a dietitian.
What are the best vegetarian protein sources with little appetite?
Greek yoghurt, quark, eggs, tofu, tempeh, edamame and lentils: lots of protein in little volume. Nuts and cheese also provide protein, but watch fat with nausea.
Do I need supplements as a vegetarian on Wegovy?
It depends on your blood values and what you eat. B12 is worth watching with little dairy and eggs. Decide with your doctor based on blood tests, not on how you feel.
